Welcome to Mboma Herbal

Mboma herbal remedies have been passed down through generations of Mboma healers. It was first created by Absolom Sikakana, a devout Lutheran preacher and respected community healer, born in 1887 in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. During the week, he used herbs grown on his own banana plantation to treat neighbours with traditional remedies. At weekends, opened and closed ANC rallies with prayer, alongside leaders like Chief Albert Luthuli, the then President of the ANC, in the fight for justice. His deep knowledge of indigenous plants, recorded in his own handwriting in the 1930s, became a lifeline for those around him.

In 1993, Absolom’s grandson Mboniseni ‘Teddy’ Sikakana began bottling the original family formula, continuing the legacy of healing that had long served his community. Named after isiHlahla si-ka-Mbôma (Mboma’s Bush), a sacred Zulu place of healing, Mboma is more than just a tonic, it’s a bridge between past and present, tradition and wellbeing. This carefully blended remedy supports natural treatment for digestion, high blood pressure, and overall vitality.

Now begins a new chapter for Mboma. With refreshed branding and packaging, this trusted herbal remedy, loved by families in South Africa for nearly 30 years is now available in the worldwide.

  • Owner and CEO

I’m Teddy Sikakana, the proud steward of a family remedy that’s been trusted for generations. Our story began in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, where my grandfather, Absolom Sikakana, a healer and preacher, blended traditional herbs to support his community.

In 1993, I began bottling our family’s original formula, carefully blending herbs like ginger, rhubarb, cinnamon, and senna to create Imbiza Yezimbiza Yezimanga – The Great Wonder Tonic. This herbal tonic, loved by families for nearly 30 years in South Africa, it is more than just a product—it’s a bridge between past and present, tradition and wellbeing.

Now, I’m excited to share this heritage remedy beyond South Africa—Mboma is now available worldwide. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you’ll join me in this journey of wellness and tradition.
